Back after a break

I took a mini break from blogging and running. But, now that New York Marathon is gone, I can feel like I am back with all the other cool kids.

Some random thoughts:

I bought a new Garmin 410 at the NY Marathon running expo. We'll see how it works. The sales rep assured me that the touch bezel is much improved and now can get wet without going crazy. We'll see and I'll update people later.

All NY marathoners had GREAT weather. Sunny, 45 or so degrees. Yes it was windy, but less so than last year. Today, on the other hand, is 40, windy and little ice shards are coming down. It would have been a nightmare to run today.

I also bought yet another new pair of running shoes. Nike Lunar Eclipse+. I have a cheap pair of Lunar Glide and love them on the treadmill. The Lunar Eclipse has more stability for bigger runners like me, so maybe I will like them on the road. Again, a review to follow.

And to all the people who stayed the course and toed the line: Congratulations! Your efforts are inspiring and I admire you all greatly.

  3. Welcome back...I felt a bit left out too, but next year! I definitely want to hear about the 410 because the 405 has its quirks. Hopefully they are resolved!

  7. Good to see you back. I'll be interested to see how the Garmin goes - a friend has the older model and she always needs to lock the bezel before a run to prevent bumps stopping the clock.
